ALL following reviews have to do with OTHER Insight Guides from Hong Kong to Paris.

NOTHING ABOUT THE “Insight Guides: Peru”.

Therefore it is a waste of time if you want to read about the “Insight Guides:Peru” which is what I was hoping to read.

This book came very handy for my recent trip to Hong Kong. It had all the different districts (Kowloon, New Territories, Outlying Islands, etc.) separated and enlisted the places of interest in each section. There was also a cultural and history section that described important background information of Hong Kong which can be useful to relating more to the culture. Overall, this book had some good maps that guided my way around the area and provided much needed info for where to go and what to visit.

First of all,I think travel books should be something that you take with you while you travel. This book on Jamaica has great color pictures and it’s printed on great paper, but that makes it heavy and not the best to travel with. I find the section on history, culture helpful, but the advice on traveling isn’t the best. I read both books and found the Moon guide to be a better fit, at least for budget traveler like me who likes to travel light. I would use this book as a resource for planning the trip, but won’t take it with me on the trip.

I read “Insight Guide Paris” cover to cover and this is a very good book. Plenty of information, very well organized and it’s obvious that it implied a lot of work from several people. The tone is funny in some places which only increases the pleasure of reading. I do not see how someone could benefit from this book for a short trip to Paris, I would see the benefit of this book if you plan to stay much longer there and explore places that are beyond the top 10 list.

Apparently Amazon made some mixing between Paris and Peru, I hope my review would end up on the Paris page.

Since I love Paris, I love this book. It has everything in the book that I waned to know about Paris and some of her history. It would be wonderful with Rick Steve’s Paris book. I used that book all over Paris and it was just perfect.YOU WILL LOVE THSE BOOK!
